The answer is yes. you can get inifinte 3 year extensions . I am one of the examples myself.

Name check is not an issue, the IO told me that name check is started soon after receipt of application, and 180 days have passed. There is a new rule that name check cannot delay I485 by more than 180 days.
WOM - the 2 years may have changed, since WOM cases were usually fighting name check. I think that it is probably one for an attorney, so I'll likely consult attorney in May regarding WOM.
Any more comments welcome.

My current H1B & I-94 extension was applied on Jun-06-2008 (applied in a group) and approved till May-01-2011.

Hello - I just recd. the TRANSFER NOTICE for me & my wife's 485 case stating that the case has been transferred to USCIS-NBC, PO Box 648005, Lee's Summit, MO 64064. We had filed for AOS in July 2007 and my priority date for is April 2006 (EB-2).
I would appreciate it if somebody can please shed some light on what this means for us. What are the implications for us.? Will the case be transferred to the local office.? Should i start to gather documents for a interview.

Dont do that. Get H1 stamped in india and then come to USA.
If it is by a desi company, it is not good to come right now. Let him continue in the current job and when the economy/market is good he can come.

Did anyone travel to India, by landing at Delhi Intl airport, and then proceeding to other destination city through a domestic airline?
Never been to Delhi, and I have no idea how Intl and domestic travel works in tandem...

Once while coming back from from Mumbai via Delhi, we did not have to change the flights, sat in the same flight to London.
And on other occasion where the connecting flight was Sahara to a Local Indian airport, we had to take our luggage and go to the Delhi domestic airport.
While in both cases, the Airline would arrange for the transport, Delhi has an inside route for passenger transfers(other vehicles are not allowed), while in bombay the bus goes thru the city, where the traffic is always severe.
In both the airports, if you are landing in the late morning (after 3-4am), you should follow up with the local airlines transport co-ordinator( bus driver ;)), to see what time is he gonna wake up and take you to the domestic airport.
Once when my inlaws were transferring from Bombay local to bombay international, they took a cab instead, as Jet airways did not have a bus ready to take the international passengers when they got out of the airport.

Of course Grassley Bill will give more restrictions. But it needs to be analysed whether it is right or wrong. The question is if you want to bring foreigners even if skilled persons are available for that job in USA. If answer is yes then the labor test and layoff provision is wrong. But if you really want to bring foreigners only if skilled persons are not available then the provision does not have any impact on the H1b program. And another provision 50% H1b rule will have only impact on bodyshoppers and Indian consulting companies. But not the H1b aspirants and in longterm that will encourage permanent job hiring in reputed companies.

And many other provisions will make most or all categories current. I just spoke to my attorney. He told me that he also have the same information that we guys know. He told he is on top of this (keeping track of the developments). He also told me according to him..that the revised july visa need not necessarily come out on 2nd or 3rd. it may be now or mid july. He also told me..there might not even be a revised bulletin. Nobody is sure. He told he is tryin to rush in his applications. Told me..mine was going out today.

My AP is valid until JUNE 27 2011, (Here is the line from the I-512L, Presentation of the Original Document prior to June 27 2011 allows a customs and border protection inspector at a port-of-entry to parole the named bearer) I'm travelling to India during May / June and will be entering LAX back on June25. Will this be an issue as my AP is expiring in next couple of days.
Experts please let me know your thoughts on my situation whether it is safe to travel and getting in back will not be of an issue.

Status should not be a problem, but double check with a lawyer. I'm wondering if you can squeeze a sponsorship for a trip home. Not very long ago, I found out that if a US employer terminates a H1, they need to pay the home country relocation costs.
You should find another job, sooner the better. But I sure would like to get such bad desi consultant companies to pay for a plane ticket.

I know IV members maybe uniformly divided between republicans and democrats. I find republicans views better too with the exception of their views on guns (war and other points).
however my main complaint against republicans is that the hardcore amongst them (esp the talk radio) ..spread hate. (remember to the average american ...legals and illegals look alike !!! ..)
and I agree nothing wrong in biden's remarks ..whereas Palin is a very wrong choice (not that I care much )

My 2 cents....explain situation to your wife's new employer and wait for 2 weeks your wife should have physical card with in 2 weeks. If it is emergency you can use H1/EAD as you have not received anything in written from USCIS.
