Are you in touch with your dad now? If not, you'll have to get back in touch with him, sort out your issues, and then maybe you'll both reconcile and he'll get an immigration lawyer to help you with your green card.
If you're already back with your dad, then consult an immigration lawyer immediately.
How long has it been since the appointment date? I'm not an expert, but if you don't show up to the appointment then your file is considered abandoned.

My AP was approved Nov 16. Email from USCIS said approval notice sent. I had to travel Dec 4th. When my lawyer contacted USCIS on Nov 25th, USCIS said they were in the process of printing the form. My lawyer suggested trying for the emergency AP. The Baltimore office says walk-ins not allowed. My travel was postponed for other reasons. Double check that USCIS actually mailed the notices to you.

You should just provide a valid reason for your case for the senator to help. All senators have direct lines to immigration offices. They can expedite your case and the results are astonishing.
My cousin left to india for an emergency and his AP was pending. Contacted senator and got it approved immediately in a day.
I also heard that one person got his 140 approved in a week. Not sure what reason he provided.
But senators are certainly helpful unlike Indian politicians.
With reference to some one’s case being transferred to the BEC, there are 300,000 other people in the same boat so hold you’re horses.

I-140 Premium processing upgrade receipt number
Dear firends.,
My lawayer upgraded to premium processing for I-140 on June 20th,2007. Will I get a new receipt number or should I keep checking the status for the original I-140 receipt number

You can apply for reneal of Green Card; that will be no problem. Best bet for citizenship is to wait four more years before applying.

Can we ask for a new legislation that will allow for complete portabilty after i-140 approval? If this is achieved I don't think retrogression/insufficient Visa#'s would be a big deal.

I came in US with my family when I was 15-16, back then we were on L2, then as time passed by we switched to H4. Then I turned 21 so I had to go on Student Visa (F1). Still living in US legally.
Now my question is I've been staying in US over 10 years now, legally. I dont know if its rumor or not, but someone told me, that you can apply for Green Card if you lived in US over 10 years legally, is that true?
Going through all that H1B process sounds really hectic. Also all my family members, friends and relatives are here, I don't know anyone back in my birthplace. any suggestions or tips, would help a bit.

No you can not. If you were illegal you could but if you are legal you can not. H1B is the only route for you.

My wife who is on H-4 is planning to go to India in December this year and would need to appear at the chennai consulate for visa renewal. I am currently in my 7th year with my labor stuck in PBEC. I am due for my 8th year extension before April 2007 but am waiting to get my labor/I-140 so I could file for a 3 year extension.
My question/concern is about my wife's renewal. I keep hearing that ppl are facing issues like name check/security issues for visa renewal. My good friend and a relative are stuck in india for 8/6 months respectively waiting for a H-1B visa issuance (Embassy's already charged the visa issuance fee but have not stamped the visa on both passport citing various reasons).
What issues should I be concerned about? My visa has expired this past april. Would the embassy insist for my visa renewal. Would be a issue that only three months remain in my wife's H-4 renewal papers? I would greatly appreciate if ppl could share their experiences to help through this unnerving process.

Use the AR 11 online process to change address do it seperately for yourself and your wife. When you have finished submitting new address the system will prompt you asking if you have any pending applications with USCIS. At that time enter the receipt numbers of all pending applications. This will do the needful. You can track the success by checking the case status in few days you can see a soft LUD on your pending applications.
